Further, within the framework of the Gender and Palestinian Minority Mainstreaming of the Israeli National Budget project (sponsored by the European Union), I`lam, with its partners The Galilee Society (Rikaz Databank) and Mada al-Carmel: Arab Center for Applied Social Research, has issued the following press release on the socio-economic status of Arab Palestinian women in Israel.
Among very troubling statistics on the socio-economic status of Arab Palestinian women in Israel are:
- 56.8% of Palestinian women live under the poverty line
- Only 23.2% of Palestinian women are currently employed
