Galilee Students Visit Kul al-Arab

 2011-04-27

As part of I’lam’s 2011 ‘Critical Media Consumption’ project being run in three Arab schools' media departments, I’lam took a group of grade 10 students from the Galilee School to the offices of the newspaper, Kul Al-Arab, in Nazareth earlier this week.

The visit was overseen by Maisoon Zoubi, the Coordinator of the Critical Consumption project, and it included interviews with two of the newspaper’s editors: Said Adawi and Suhail Kiwan. Students listened to a detailed explanation of the work that goes into the newspaper. The students asked many questions about the nature of the work of journalists and the other tasks of the newspaper.

The visit is one of the many activities undertaken by the students taking I’lam’s educational and empowerment course in schools, which also includes meetings and visits to various media organizations.
