The following press release concerns a tour organized by I’lam for journalists and youth to the Israeli media organization of Ha’aretz. During the tour the group met with Editor and Military Analyst Aluf Benn. He spoke of the current economic situation of the newspaper, and the challenges of keeping up with the online community. Ha’aretz now focuses quite a bit of energy on the online publication of its newspaper, especially the English section. Benn discussed the many big issues at the moment including the reconciliation agreement between Hamas and Fatah, the recent changes in Egypt and the future of Israeli-Egyptian relations, and the September deadline when the Palestinians will go to the United Nations to seek statehood.
