In cooperation with Shatil and Agenda, I'lam held a training workshop for civil society NGOs, in particular their PR persons, about how to better market their news and activities. The workshop was held on June 29 2011 from 8:30am-3:45pm at the offices of Shatil in Haifa, located at 102 Kings Street.
Among the issues discussed were:
* How to make news appealing to journalists and other methods of marketing NGO work.
* To what degree if any does our personal knowledge of journalism influence our outreach with the media?
* Is it possible to win over the media without losing our message?
* What are the centers of power that affect the media work and the decision of the media organizations in covering news?
* How do we deal with the various factors that affect the work of the journalist?
