Among the many courses organized by I’lam over the year, "The New Media" course (which was recently concluded) dealt with social media and its effects on human rights. The course was coordinated by Dr. Asmaa Ghanyem. The course spanned six meetings and focused on using modern internet tools such as Blogs, Google tools, Twitter and Facebook. The course also dealt with examining the effects of these tools on the human right to privacy and on the right of the public to know and on freedom of expression.

The course attracted many journalists, correspondents and social activists, and was a great success. As a result, I’lam is launching a new course, building on the success of the past one, in cooperation with the Palestinian youth NGO, Baladna.
