Advocacy

The advocacy of media regulatory bodies serves to build a culture for objective, pluralistic and human rights-sensitive media work in the Hebrew media landscape. Further, it builds capacities of Arab journalists/editors in the active role they will be invited to play in advocacy. In 2011-2012, we will build on effective advocacy work done during the 2005-2008 years, continuing to engage the Israeli media as in 2009-2010, but at the decision-making and regulatory levels.

This project will import novel elements in 2011-12, broken down as follows:

i) Monitoring of media policy and legislation, interpreting consequences on the Palestinian minority

ii) Advocacy of Media Regulatory Bodies

iii) Awareness Raising of Hebrew Media Institutions
